In a city made of wires, lived the outlets. They were the heart of every home. Old Tomas was the wisest outlet in the neighborhood. He was a grey, square tomacorriente with a gentle smile. But Tomas was very, very tired today. On his back lived many hungry creatures. These were the Voltiboros. Voltiboro 1 was a small insect with a plug for a tail. Voltiboro 2 was also a small insect with shiny, metallic legs. They loved to eat electricity all day long. "More energy!" shouted Voltiboro 1. Tomas let them stay because he was kind. He worked even when the house was empty. The TV stayed on and the lamps stayed bright. Tomas felt heavy and worn out. His metal body had many small cracks. He wanted to keep helping, but he was losing his strength.
