Long before today, the Amazon was a green paradise. Giant trees reached up to the blue sky. Clear rivers flowed through the deep, green jungle. In a small village, a brave boy was born. His name was Pano. His father was a wise, respected chief. The chief wore bright feathers and gold beads. Pano grew up to be very strong. He had long black hair and powerful arms. He wore traditional Quijos clothing made of bark. Pano carried a long wooden spear every day. He was the most skilled hunter in the land. He was brave, loyal, and very determined. The village shamans watched him grow with pride. They wore face paint and many herbal tools. Pano could track a jaguar through the dark. He could jump over wide, rushing forest streams. He loved his home in the wild, thick forest. He was a hero to all his friends. The forest was full of life and sounds. Monkeys played in the high, green canopy overhead. Macaws flew through the bright, morning mist. Pano felt at home in the wild world. He was a leader among all the boys. He was a very fast and strong runner. Pano was always ready for a new challenge. He respected the spirits of the deep woods. He listened to the stories of the elders. Every day brought a brand new jungle adventure.
