The Boy Who Loved Books — Pagina 1

Young Sarmiento lived in a small, sunny house. He loved to read more than anything else. He sat under a big green fig tree. The leaves provided a cool and quiet shade. His mother worked on her loom nearby. She made beautiful rugs with many bright colors. The rhythmic sound of the loom filled the air. Sarmiento watched the letters on his small slate. He practiced his writing until the sun went down. He wanted to know everything about the world. He was a boy with a very big heart. His mind was always full of wonderful new ideas. He felt very happy when he found a book. Every page was like a tiny, magical door. He promised to study hard every single day. The garden smelled like sweet flowers and fresh earth. He listened to the bees buzzing in the garden. He felt the rough bark of the tree. He was ready to learn and grow. He loved the way the ink looked. He loved the smell of the old paper. His mother was very proud of her son. She worked hard so he could study more. The sun was warm on his small face. He was a very happy little boy today.
