Far away in the Galaxy of Shapes, there was a place called Cube-World. It was a very pointy planet. If you visited, you had to be careful not to prick your fingers on the grass! Everything there was perfectly square. The houses had flat roofs like kitchen tables, and the clouds looked like soft cubes of white cotton floating in the blue sky. Even the trees had straight trunks with square wooden tops. The dogs did not bark "Woof" like our dogs do. Instead, they made a sharp, boxy sound: "Bak! Bak!" The people who lived there were called Cubis. They were very tidy and proud of their sharp corners. Their greatest joy was waking up in square beds and eating square cookies for breakfast. "Being square is the only right way to be," said their Great Book of Rules. They walked in straight lines and never took shortcuts.
