Sammendrag
After a catastrophic event known as Dia Cero wipes out all music from existence, a musician struggles to cope with the silence and searches for a new way to find beauty and create sound in a world devoid of melody.
The air tasted of static, a metallic tang that clung to the back of my throat. Dia Cero. Day Zero. The day the music died. Literally. Not just some sappy metaphor; all music, every note ever recorded, composed, or hummed into existence, vanished. Poof. Gone.
I remember the moment. I was tuning my guitar, about to practice for my bands big gig. The E string snapped, a jarring twang that made me wince. Then… silence. Complete, utter, unnatural silence. The kind that presses against your eardrums, a void that screams its emptiness. My guitar felt wrong in my hands, cold and lifeless. I strummed the remaining strings. Nothing. Just the faint whisper of air.
Panic bloomed in my chest. I ran to the radio, the TV, my phone – all dead. No music streaming, no crackling static from the FM band, just… nothing. The world outside was equally mute. No car radios, no birds singing, no distant hum of machinery. The only sounds were the rustle of leaves in the wind and the frantic thumping of my own heart.
Days bled into weeks. The initial chaos subsided, replaced by a chilling resignation. People adapted, or tried to. They rediscovered the sounds of nature, the rhythm of their own breathing. But there was an emptiness, a hollowness that music used to fill. The world felt… dull.
I wandered the streets, guitar slung over my shoulder like a useless weapon. I saw other musicians, haunted eyes staring into the abyss of silence. We understood each other without words. We shared the loss, the gaping wound in our souls.
One day, I stumbled upon a group of children playing in a park. One of them, a girl with bright, curious eyes, was humming a melody. A simple, childish tune, but it was *something*. My heart leaped. I knelt down beside her, my fingers instinctively finding the chords on my guitar. I played along, tentatively at first, then with growing confidence. The other children joined in, clapping and singing. The melody was fragmented, imperfect, but it was beautiful. It was the beginning. Maybe, just maybe, Dia Cero wasnt the end, but the prelude to something new. A rebirth of sound, born from the silence.
