Cap. 1The Sparkly Path to Adventure

Maya walked down the stairs to the garden. Flowers of every color grew in the dirt. There were red roses and yellow daisies everywhere. Near the rose bushes, she found her friend Pip. Pip was a small fox with orange fur. He wore a cozy green scarf around his neck. "Are you ready for our trip, Pip?" Maya asked. Pip wagged his bushy tail and barked happily. They packed some sweet red apples for the walk. They also packed some crunchy yellow crackers. The sun was warm on their soft fur. The birds sang a song in the trees. Maya smiled at her little fox friend. Maya felt a little nervous but very brave. Pip jumped into her yellow backpack to peek out. They were a perfect team for a trip. The garden smelled like honey and green grass. Pip licked Maya's hand to show his love. They were the best friends in the world. Maya looked at the flowers one last time. She was ready to see the outside world. Her silver boots sparkled in the morning light. They walked together toward the big exit.

They reached the heavy wooden gates of the castle. The tall guards smiled and waved goodbye. Maya stepped onto the dusty path outside. She felt the soft dirt under her boots. Suddenly, she saw something strange in the grass. A tiny, glowing trail of blue dust appeared. It led away from the castle into the woods. "Look at that magic trail, Pip!" Maya pointed. The blue dust sparkled like tiny fallen stars. It made a path that shimmered in the light. Where did this magic blue path go? The woods were dark but the stars were bright. Maya held the straps of her yellow backpack. She was not afraid of the big forest. Maya took a deep breath and followed the light. The big world was finally waiting for her. She walked forward with a very big smile. Something wonderful was about to happen soon. The trees whispered in the wind as they walked. Maya and Pip began their journey today. The blue dust led them toward a secret. They did not know what they would find next.
