Lily loved music. She hummed all day long, even when brushing her teeth! One sunny afternoon, rummaging in her grandmother’s attic, Lily discovered a dusty, old music box. It was painted with swirling designs of emerald green and gold. Intrigued, Lily wound the key. Instead of the tinkling tune she expected, a puff of sparkly green smoke whooshed out, and standing before her was a woman with a dazzling smile and a dress the same vibrant green as the music box. “Hello, darling!” she chirped. “I’m Caro Emerald, and I live inside this music box!”
Caro Emerald explained that her music could bring joy to anyone who heard it. But the music box was losing its magic, and her songs were fading. To recharge it, they needed to find three special sounds: the laughter of children, the song of a robin, and the rustling of autumn leaves. So began their adventure! First, they went to the park, where children were playing. Caro Emerald’s music filled the air, and the children’s laughter rang out, bright and clear. The music box glowed a little brighter. Next, they found a robin perched on a branch, singing its cheerful melody. The music box pulsed with a warmer light. Finally, they walked through a park filled with crunchy autumn leaves. As they shuffled through them, the leaves rustled like a whispered song. The music box shone brilliantly!
Caro Emerald beamed. “Thank you, Lily! My music is back!” She gave Lily a hug and winked. “Now, whenever you wind the music box, you’ll hear my songs, and theyll always bring you joy.” With another puff of green smoke, Caro Emerald disappeared back into the music box. Lily carefully carried the music box back downstairs, her heart full of music and magic.
