The Schnee Manor hummed with an unusual tranquility. Jacques, once a volcano of controlled rage, was…pleasant. He brought Willow tea at precisely the right temperature, inquired about her well-being with genuine concern, and even offered to read to her from her favorite novels. He’d stopped complaining about Winter’s military career and, astonishingly, voiced support for Weiss’s aspiration to become a Huntress, even if it meant training at Beacon Academy. It was unsettling, yet undeniably welcome. What no one knew, not even the most astute Atlasian intelligence network, was Jacques’s secret. He was Jean-Luc Dubois, the enigmatic, multi-instrumentalist musician whose emotionally charged songs were sweeping Remnant. Jean-Luc’s lyrics, raw and brutally honest, detailed the suffocating feeling of being trapped in a loveless marriage, the bitter sting of perceived rejection by his daughters, and the gnawing frustration of unfulfilled potential. He wore a cleverly designed disguise: a dark wig, contacts, and most importantly, the complete shaving of his signature mustache. He looked decades younger, a bohemian artist freed from the shackles of corporate tyranny. His anonymity was his shield, his music his therapy.
The charade crumbled during Jean-Luc’s sold-out concert in Vale. Weiss, on a weekend trip with Team RWBY, recognized the distinct Schnee family piano style woven into one of Jean-Luc’s angrier ballads. The lyrics, a thinly veiled attack on a ‘cold, unfeeling Ice Queen,’ were unmistakable. Ruby, ever the optimist, initially dismissed it as coincidence. But Weiss, with her years of deciphering her fathers passive-aggressive barbs, knew better. A quick search online revealed Jacques’s peculiar absence from Atlas during Jean-Luc’s tour dates. The concert ended with an encore, and then… chaos. As Jean-Luc, dripping with sweat and faux-humility, bowed, a devoted fan, overcome with emotion, rushed the stage and planted a full-blown, tongue-tangling French kiss on him. The lights went up. Weiss, followed by Yang, stormed the stage. "Jacques!" Weiss’s voice, laced with fury and betrayal, echoed through the theater. Jacques, caught red-handed (and red-lipped), stammered, his disguise useless against the Schnee family fury. Back in Atlas, Willow, having watched the entire debacle on live television, finally snapped. The years of suppressed anger and resentment surged to the surface. She teleported to Vale, armed with a summoning glyph and a lifetime of bottled-up rage.
The ensuing confrontation was legendary. Jacques, still wiping lipstick from his face, found himself facing Weiss and Yang, ready to unleash their Huntress skills, and a Willow Schnee summoning a horde of Grimm. Desperate, he blurted out, “It was… it was a mid-life crisis! Everyone has them! Weiss ran away to become a Huntress! If I can’t express myself through music, you’re all hypocrites! You’re holding me to a standard you don’t even uphold yourselves!” His argument, flimsy at best, fell flat. Willow, summoning a Beowolf directly behind him, simply stated, "You dare compare your… pathetic escapade to our attempts to build lives of our own, free from your control?" The battle that followed was a whirlwind of glyphs, fire, and musical instruments used as impromptu weapons. Jacques, despite his musical talent, was no match for two trained Huntresses and a very, very angry wife. He was last seen being dragged back to Atlas, presumably to face the music… or the Schnee family version thereof. Jean-Luc Dubois, the rock star, was dead. Jacques Schnee, the hapless husband and father, was about to face his greatest performance yet: surviving his family’s wrath.
