The Humming Mystery

They stepped carefully through the tall grass, listening closely. The humming grew louder, like a song from a hidden bird. Suddenly, a leaf rustled behind them. Balam turned fast, but it was only a squirrel. Ixchel smiled, but her eyes stayed sharp. They followed the sound deeper into the jungle, where the trees grew taller and the air felt cooler. K’iin pointed to a glowing path covered in soft moss. It was as if the jungle itself was guiding them forward.

The humming stopped. All was quiet. Then, a soft light shone from behind a big rock. K’iin stepped forward, eyes wide with wonder. Balam and Ixchel followed, hearts beating fast. They saw a glowing orb, like a tiny sun, floating in the air. It pulsed with a warm, golden light. Ixchel whispered, ‘This must be the source of the sound.’ K’iin reached out, but the orb floated away, disappearing into the trees. They stood there, puzzled, as the jungle whispered secrets only they could hear.
