Claudius ordered Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to spy on Hamlet but Hamlet discovered their intentions. Hamlet planned the play in the castle to confirm the depressing truth. Scene I Ophelia Nearly crying Oh, father! Hamlet´s gone absolutely mad! Or depressed! I´ve never seen him in that state. I saw him in the garden a few minutes ago Polonius Consoling her Yes, my worried child, I know! He’s fallen in love with you and that is the reason of his madness.
