Cap. 1Facundo's Kind Heart

Soon, Facundo **sees** his good friend Leo sitting near the sandbox. Leo looks very sad because he **drops** all of his wooden blocks on the path. The blocks **roll** away into the tall green grass and under the wooden benches. Facundo **runs** over to his friend as fast as he can. "Do not worry, Leo, I will **help** you," Facundo says with a kind voice. He **kneels** on the soft ground to search for the missing pieces. Facundo **finds** a red block under a leaf and **picks** it up carefully. Then he **spots** a blue block and a yellow block near a rock. He **gathers** all the toys in his small hands. Leo starts to **smile** when he sees his toys coming back. Facundo **hands** the blocks to Leo one by one. Leo **takes** the blocks and says thank you to his friend. They **sit** together and **build** a very tall tower out of the colorful wood. Helping a friend makes Facundo feel very warm and happy inside his heart.

After they finish playing, Facundo **hears** a tiny sound coming from the big oak tree. It is a very quiet "meow" coming from high above the ground. Facundo **turns** around and **walks** toward the old tree to see what is happening. He **looks** up and **sees** a small white kitten stuck on a very high branch. The kitten is afraid to **move** and wants to **come** down to the grass. Facundo **feels** sad for the little kitten and wants to **rescue** it quickly. He **stretches** his arms up high, but the branch is too far away to reach. The kitten **looks** down at Facundo with big, scared eyes. Facundo **thinks** very hard about how to solve this difficult problem. He **looks** around the park for something tall to use as a ladder. He **notices** a pile of soft blankets near a bench and gets a great idea. If he can **call** for help or find a way to reach, the kitten will be safe. Facundo **starts** to climb the first branch, but then he hears a loud noise behind him.
