One chilly morning, as the sun peeked shyly behind the clouds, a tiny snowflake named Flurry floated down from the sky. She landed softly on the window of Maplewood Kindergarten, where the children were drawing pictures of their favorite winter activities. The class had just finished a story about snowmen and the children were excited about the snow that had fallen overnight.
"Good morning, little friends," Flurry said, her voice like the soft sound of snowflakes dancing in the wind. The children turned in surprise, their eyes wide with wonder. "I’m Flurry, and I’m a snowflake. I came all the way from the North to share a secret with you."
"A secret?" asked Mia, the tallest girl in the class, who always asked the most questions. "What kind of secret?"
"It’s about kindness," Flurry said, twirling in the air. "You see, snowflakes are special because they carry the warmth of the heart. When people are kind, their love turns into snowflakes that fall gently on the earth."
The children leaned in closer, their faces lit with curiosity. "So, if we are kind, we get snowflakes?" asked Sam, who was building a snowman outside with his friends. Flurry nodded. "Yes, but the snowflakes only come when your heart is full of kindness and joy."
To show them, Flurry began to glow softly, her edges shimmering with light. The classroom filled with a warm, golden glow that made everyone feel happy and safe. "You can see the magic if you look closely," she said. The children watched in awe as the snowflake’s light danced across the walls, creating beautiful patterns that looked like snowflakes made of starlight.
"I want to be kind so I can have my own snowflake," said Lily, a quiet girl who often sat by herself. Flurry smiled. "That’s the best way to make magic happen. Just be kind, and the snowflakes will come."
From that day on, the children in Maplewood Kindergarten made a promise to be kind to each other, to share their toys, and to help when someone needed it. And every time it snowed, they would look up and see snowflakes that seemed to sparkle with the light of their kindness. Flurry had given them a secret worth sharing, and the magic of winter lived on in their hearts.
