Little Red Riding Hood bounced along the forest path, her red cloak fluttering like a ribbon in the wind. She carried a basket full of her mother’s best treats—fresh strawberries, golden honey cakes, and a jar of rosemary jam. 'I hope Grandma likes these,' she whispered, her boots crunching softly on the fallen leaves.
As she walked, she spotted a wolf sitting on a mossy log, his silver fur gleaming in the dappled sunlight. 'Hello there, little one,' he said with a friendly smile. 'Are you going to visit your grandmother?'
'Yes, I am,' Little Red replied, tilting her head. 'But I always take the long way around so the forest feels more like a game.'
'Ah, but the long way is full of thorns and rocks,' the wolf said gently. 'Why not take the shorter path? I know a way that’s smooth and safe, with flowers and birds singing.'
Little Red hesitated, then smiled. 'Would you walk with me? I’d like a friend to share the journey.'
The wolf nodded, and together they walked, chatting about the stars and the scent of pine. When they reached Grandma’s cottage, the old woman was delighted to see her granddaughter. 'You brought my favorite honey cakes!' she exclaimed, hugging Little Red tightly.
'And I brought a new friend too,' Little Red said, pointing to the wolf. 'He showed me the way through the forest.'
Grandma smiled. 'What a kind wolf you are!' The wolf bowed. 'Kindness is the best way through any forest.'
That night, as the stars twinkled above, Little Red tucked herself into bed, her heart full of stories and the scent of rosemary jam. She dreamed of friendly wolves and safe paths, knowing that kindness always leads the way.
