Watch Out, Miguel! The Safety Adventure

Miguel was a very hardworking boy. He loved fixing things and making the machines buzz and spin at the industrial maintenance company where he worked. Every morning, he arrived with a smile and checked the conveyor belts, cleaned the shiny parts, and made sure everything worked like a clock.

But Miguel had a small problem: he was very impatient! He was always running to finish everything quickly, as if he were in a race against time. His boss would tell him, "Miguel, being in a hurry is good for getting to ice cream first, but not for working with machines. Safety comes first!" But sometimes, Miguel forgot his boss's words.

One sunny day, Miguel had to adjust a conveyor belt that was a little crooked. "Fast, fast," he thought, "if I hurry, I'll finish sooner and can go play soccer." So, without thinking twice, he started adjusting the belt without putting on his protective gloves. He also forgot to turn off the machine. Big mistake!

Suddenly, "Zaz!" The conveyor belt turned on all at once. Miguel tried to pull his hand away, but it was too late. His hand got caught between the belt and a roller. "Ouch!" Miguel cried. The pain was like a thousand ants biting his hand. His coworkers, hearing his scream, ran to help. They turned off the machine as quickly as they could and called an ambulance.

Miguel was taken to the hospital. The doctor told him he had hurt his hand and would have to wear a cast for a while. Miguel felt very sad and ashamed. Not only did his hand hurt, but his heart did too. He knew it was all his fault, for being so impatient and careless.

At the company, everyone was very worried about Miguel. The boss was very serious. He had to stop work so everyone could learn an important lesson. An investigation was organized to find out what had happened and how to prevent it from happening again.

After a few weeks, Miguel returned to the company, still with the cast on his hand. Everyone welcomed him with a smile and a big hug. Miguel apologized for his recklessness. "I learned my lesson," he said. "I will never hurry again or ignore the safety rules. Safety is the most important thing!"

From that day on, the company changed a lot. They put up big, colorful posters with drawings of gloves, helmets, and safety goggles. They organized training courses so everyone would know how to use the machines safely. And they constantly checked the machines to make sure they were in perfect condition.

Miguel, with his cast, became an example for everyone. He always wore his gloves, put on his helmet and safety goggles, and checked each machine carefully. He was no longer the impatient boy who ran everywhere. Now he was a responsible and careful boy.

One day, a girl visiting the company asked Miguel why he was so careful. Miguel showed her his hand, still with a small scar. "This scar reminds me that rushing can be dangerous," he said. "Safety is like a shield that protects us from accidents. We should always use our shield."

The girl smiled and promised she would always remember Miguel's story. And so, Miguel's story became a legend in the company, a legend that reminded everyone that prevention, protective gear, and constant attention are the best ways to avoid accidents and protect life. And that no soccer game is worth your safety!
