The Waterfall That Flows Upward

They pushed through the tall ferns and gasped. Before them was a waterfall, but instead of flowing down, the water rose into the sky like a silver ribbon. Fabio stepped closer, his eyes wide. 'It’s going up!' he said. Karim, who had been watching from a few feet back, smiled. 'That’s the upward waterfall,' he said. 'It’s a mystery even scientists can’t explain.'

Ana knelt down to examine the ground. 'There’s a strange energy here,' she said. 'It might be why the water goes up instead of down.' Gael noticed something unusual. 'Look!' he said, pointing to a glowing patch of ground near the base of the waterfall. Fabio ran over and touched it. The ground pulsed with light, and the waterfall shimmered. 'It’s alive!' he said. Karim and Ana exchanged a worried look. 'We should be careful,' Karim said. 'We don’t know what happens if we get too close.'
