A Fairy Tale of Two: The Moon and the Willow

In a quiet forest where the trees whispered secrets and the stars danced on the water, there lived a lonely willow tree. Her branches were long and flowing, but she had no friends. The other trees were too busy with their own leaves and roots, and the animals would not sit by her because her leaves were always falling into their nests. One night, when the forest was still and the wind was gentle, the Moon peeked through the clouds and noticed the willow's sadness. 'Why do you sit so still, Willow?' the Moon asked, her voice like silver bells. 'I have no one to talk to,' the willow sighed. 'No one listens to me.' 'Then I shall listen,' said the Moon. 'I am lonely too, for I shine only at night, and the world sleeps when I am awake.' The willow smiled a little. 'Then we are two lonely things.' And so, the Moon and the willow became friends. Every night, the Moon would climb high above the forest, and the willow would sway her branches to the rhythm of the stars.
