Five Minute Princess Stories: The Secret of the Singing Stones

Once upon a time, in a kingdom where the flowers bloomed twice as fast as anywhere else, there lived a curious little princess named Lila. She was not afraid of the dark, nor of the tallest trees, and she always asked, 'Why?' when she saw something strange. One day, as she wandered past the edge of the royal garden, she noticed a narrow path covered in moss, hidden behind a curtain of ivy. She had never seen it before, and her heart fluttered with excitement.

The path led her deep into the forest, where the trees whispered secrets and the wind carried songs no one else could hear. Soon, she came upon a clearing where the ground shimmered like silver. In the center stood a stone that looked like a mirror, but instead of reflecting her face, it sang a soft, sweet tune. Lila tilted her head. 'Hello?' she called. The stone hummed in reply. She placed her hand on it, and the song grew louder, filling the air with warmth and light.

Suddenly, a gentle voice spoke from behind her. 'That is the Singing Stone, dear princess. It only sings for those who listen with their hearts.' Lila turned to see a small, green turtle with a shell that sparkled like the stars. 'You are the first to find it in many years,' the turtle said, winking. 'I am Sir Tilly, guardian of the forest. Lila nodded eagerly. 'What lesson?' Sir Tilly smiled. 'The lesson of kindness. The Singing Stone sings only for those who have helped others, and it grows louder with every kind deed.' Lila thought for a moment. 'But I have only ever helped my brother and my pet rabbit. Is that enough?' Sir Tilly chuckled. 'Even the smallest kindness is a seed that can grow into something great.'

The turtle led Lila to a clearing where a fox was stuck in a thorny bush. 'I can’t get out,' the fox said, his voice full of worry. Lila gently pulled the thorns away, and the fox hopped free. 'Thank you, princess,' he said, bowing. 'That was the kind deed that will make the stone sing louder.'

Then they met a baby bird whose nest had fallen from the tree. Lila and Sir Tilly worked together to build a new nest nearby. The bird’s mother thanked them with a joyful trill. 'You are becoming a true princess of kindness,' Sir Tilly said proudly. As they returned to the Singing Stone, it began to glow and sing a melody so beautiful it made Lila’s eyes water.
