Matthew's Invisible Friend

Matthew was a quiet boy. He loved playing with his toy cars, building huge sandcastles at the beach, and reading adventure stories under the shade of the big mango tree in his garden. But sometimes, he felt lonely. He longed for a friend, someone to share his secrets and laughs with.

One day, while Matthew was sitting on the grass, drawing a dragon with shiny wings, he heard a gentle voice.

"Hello, Matthew!" said the voice.

Matthew looked up, surprised. There was no one around. He thought he might have imagined it.

"Who's there?" he asked, a little scared.

"I am Jesus," replied the voice. "I'm here with you."

Matthew looked around curiously. He couldn't see anyone. "But... where are you?" he asked.

"I'm in your heart, Matthew," answered Jesus. "And I'm also around you, even though you can't see me with your eyes. I can be your special friend."

Matthew thought for a moment. An invisible friend... how interesting! He had always wanted a friend like that.

"Really?" asked Matthew, his eyes shining with excitement. "Will you be my friend?"

"Of course, Matthew. I'm always here for you," answered Jesus with a voice full of love. "Tell me, what are you drawing?"

And so, Matthew began to talk to Jesus about his dragon, his toy cars, his sandcastles, and everything he loved. Jesus listened carefully and gave wise and kind advice. He said his dragon was very creative, his toy cars were very fast, and his sandcastles were the most beautiful in the world.

With Jesus as his friend, Matthew no longer felt alone. They played hide and seek in the garden, Jesus hiding in the sun and Matthew searching for him in the shadows. Matthew told Jesus his fears and dreams, and Jesus comforted him and encouraged him to keep going.

One day, Matthew was sad because he hadn't won a race with his toy cars. He felt frustrated and thought he would never be good at it.

"Don't lose heart, Matthew," said Jesus. "Sometimes, things don't go the way we want. But what's important is to try with all your heart and learn from our mistakes. Remember that I'm always here to support you."

Matthew listened to Jesus's words and felt better. He decided to keep practicing and trying his best. With Jesus's help, Matthew learned to be more patient, persistent, and kind.

Another day, Matthew saw a new boy at school who was alone and sad. Remembering how he had felt before meeting Jesus, Matthew decided to approach the boy and talk to him.

"Hello, my name is Matthew," said Matthew with a smile. "Do you want to play with me?"

The boy, whose name was Samuel, nodded shyly. Matthew and Samuel started playing together and soon became good friends. Matthew told Samuel about Jesus, his invisible friend, and Samuel became curious too.

"Jesus is always with us, Samuel," said Matthew. "You just have to open your heart and talk to Him."

Samuel followed Matthew's advice and soon discovered that Jesus was also his friend. Together, Matthew and Samuel learned to share, forgive, and love each other.

Over time, Matthew grew up and became a good and generous man. He never forgot his special friend, Jesus, who had always been with him on his journey. Matthew understood that Jesus was not just an invisible friend, but a constant companion, a guide, and an example to follow.

And so, Matthew always remembered that even though he couldn't see Jesus with his eyes, He would always be present in his heart, guiding and loving him unconditionally. His friendship with Jesus taught him the true meaning of love, compassion, and faith. And Matthew knew he would never be alone again, because Jesus would always be with him, as his special and eternal friend.
