Ivy had always felt a little small in her kindergarten class. While the other children played loudly and ran fast, Ivy preferred to sit quietly and color. One rainy afternoon, as the class played a game of pretend, Ivy imagined she was a sailor on a ship. 'I wish I had a real island to explore,' she whispered. To her surprise, a tiny boat appeared beside her, creaking gently in the puddle she had been coloring in. 'Hop in, little captain!' said a soft voice. Ivy looked up and saw a tiny tiger with a bow tie, holding a map. 'This is the Island of Tiny Tigers,' the tiger said. 'Only the bravest and kindest children can find it.'
Ivy hesitated, then climbed into the boat. The tiger, named Tiki, rowed her across the puddle to a small, magical island where the trees were as tall as her knees and the flowers sang soft songs. Tiny tigers with golden fur and gentle eyes welcomed her, offering her honey-flavored leaves and shiny pebbles to play with. Ivy realized she wasn’t small here—she was just right. She played tag with the tigers, helped them build a bridge from fallen leaves, and even taught them to dance to the sound of a cricket’s song.
As the sun began to set, Tiki took Ivy back to her classroom. 'You were kind and brave, just like the island needs,' he said. Ivy felt a warm glow inside. The next day, she wasn’t shy anymore. She smiled at her classmates and even shared her crayons. Ivy knew now that kindness and courage could make the biggest difference, even in the smallest of places.
From that day on, Ivy always carried a tiny tiger-shaped stone in her pocket, a reminder that everyone has the power to be brave and kind. And sometimes, a little imagination can lead you to the most magical places.
