The Great Moon Mission in Albolote

Daniel and María José are students at CEIP Abadía. They live in the beautiful town of Albolote. Today is a very special day because they have a secret message from NASA! NASA says, "We need a special object for our trip to the Moon. Can you help us?"

"Yes, we can!" say the children. They are very excited.

They start the search at Daniel’s house. First, they look in the hall. The hall is big, but the object is not there. Then, they walk into the living room. They look under the sofa and behind the TV. "Is it here?" asks María José. "No, it isn't," answers Daniel.

They go upstairs to the bedroom. They look under the bed and in the wardrobe. They check the bathroom, too. They look behind the mirror and under the towels. Is the object in the bathroom? No, it isn't.

"Let’s go to the attic!" says Daniel. The attic is full of old boxes. They look inside the boxes, but they don't find the NASA tool. Next, they go down to the cellar. It is very dark and cold. They use a torch to see. They see a bicycle and some old chairs, but they don't see a space tool.

They run to the garage. Daniel’s father works in the garage. "Do you have a space tool here, Dad?" asks Daniel. "No, I don't," says his dad. "But keep looking!"

The children are tired. They go to the dining room to sit down. "We don't have the object," says María José sadly. "Where is it?"

Finally, they walk into the kitchen. On the table, they see a shiny, silver kitchen timer. It goes "Tick, tick, tick!"

"Look!" cries María José. "A countdown timer! NASA needs a timer for the rocket launch!"

"You are right!" says Daniel. "It is perfect!"

They take the timer to the main square in Albolote. They send a photo to NASA. NASA replies immediately: "Great job, Daniel and María José! This is the perfect timer for our Moon mission. You are space heroes!"

The children are very happy. They love their town, and they love their space adventure!
