As she read, the forest around her seemed to pause, as if listening. The birds landed on branches, the squirrels stopped their acorn gathering, and even the sleepy tortoise cracked one eye open.
Hazel decided to share what she had learned. That evening, under the glow of the moon, she gathered her friends in the clearing. She told them a tale about a brave mouse who found a way to cross the river with a leaf bridge. She told of a kind fox who shared his berries with a hungry rabbit. Each story was short, but full of wonder. The forest creatures listened with wide eyes and hearts full of joy. They realized that stories, no matter how small, could make the world feel bigger and kinder.
From that day on, Hazel became the forest’s storyteller. She taught the young animals how to listen, how to imagine, and how to share. And when she was done, she always ended with a gentle moral, like a soft breeze: 'A short story may be small, but it can make the world feel whole.'
