The Story of Chicken Little

Once upon a time, in a cozy little village nestled between golden hills and a whispering forest, there lived a curious little chick named Chicken Little. She had bright orange feathers, a soft beak, and a heart full of questions. Every morning, she would peck at the dewy grass, chirping at the sunrise and counting the clouds as they floated across the sky. Her favorite place was the old oak tree at the edge of the woods, where she would sit and listen to the wind tell stories of distant lands and brave heroes.

One day, as Chicken Little was sitting on a branch, she heard a loud *thud* from above. She tilted her head and looked up. A big, round acorn had fallen from the tree and landed with a soft *plop* right next to her. She tilted her head again. "That was a really big acorn!" she chirped. She pecked it gently with her beak and looked up at the tree, wondering if something else might fall.

"Hey, Chicken Little!" called a voice from below. It was a squirrel named Sammy, who was busy gathering nuts. "What’s wrong?"

Chicken Little looked down at her feet and said, "I think the sky is falling!"

Sammy blinked. "The sky is falling? Are you sure?"

"I heard a big *thud*!" said Chicken Little. "It must be the sky falling!"

Sammy scratched his head. "Well, I’ve never heard of the sky falling, but I can check." He scampered up the tree and looked around. "Huh. I don’t see any clouds falling or stars dropping. Just a normal day." He looked at Chicken Little and smiled. "Maybe it’s just an acorn."

Chicken Little shook her head. "But it was a big acorn!"

"Big or small, it’s just a nut," said Sammy. "But I like your imagination. Maybe you can help us find out what’s really going on!"

Chicken Little perked up. "Really? I can help?"

"Of course!" said Sammy. "Let’s check the rest of the forest. Maybe the whole forest heard it too!"

Together, they went to visit their friends. They told them about the *thud* and the acorn. Some thought it was just an acorn, but others thought maybe something bigger was happening. Soon, more animals joined them — a rabbit, a hedgehog, and even a wise old owl named Ollie.

As they explored, they found more acorns and leaves falling, but nothing more than a normal autumn day. Finally, Ollie the owl said, "It seems like the forest is just preparing for winter. The leaves and nuts are falling naturally. There’s no reason to worry."

Chicken Little looked around at her friends, who all smiled at her. She felt a warm feeling in her chest. "I thought the sky was falling, but it was just the forest getting ready for winter," she said.

"And you helped us all feel brave enough to check it out," said Sammy. "You’re a hero, Chicken Little!"

Chicken Little blushed. "I just thought I heard something, and I wanted to make sure everyone was safe."

"That’s the kind of courage that makes the world a better place," said Ollie.

From that day on, Chicken Little was known as the bravest chick in the forest. She still liked to sit under the oak tree and listen to the wind, but now she knew that even the smallest voice could make a big difference. And when the sky seemed too loud or the world felt too big, she remembered that sometimes, the most important thing is to believe in yourself and help others.
