Once upon a time, in a house filled with the scent of delicious spices and the sound of soft music, lived a seven-year-old girl named Carlota. Carlota was a girl with wavy brown hair and bright brown eyes that shone with curiosity. She was not just any seven-year-old; she was remarkably hardworking and responsible. Every morning, Carlota woke up early, dressed herself, and prepared for her day at Sansueña, her beloved school.
At Sansueña, Carlota felt like a professional explorer of knowledge. She proudly wore her school uniform: a neat red and green plaid skirt paired with a cozy dark green fleece that kept her warm during the chilly mornings. She loved her lessons, but she especially loved the breaks when she could run across the playground with her best friends. They would huddle together, their green fleeces forming a sea of emerald, as they shared secrets and played games of tag.
When the school day ended, Carlota’s dedication didn’t stop. Back at home, she would sit at her wooden desk, carefully opening her notebooks to complete her homework. Her mother, Leyre, was often right there to support her. Leyre was a hardworking woman with brown hair and kind green eyes that always seemed to encourage Carlota. Together, they would solve math problems and practice reading. Leyre admired her daughter’s focus, and Carlota felt lucky to have a mother who worked so hard both at her job and at home.

While Carlota and Leyre studied, the kitchen would come alive with the rhythmic sound of chopping and the sizzle of a hot pan. That was Carlota’s father, Carlos. Carlos was tall, with hair that grew a bit long and a face that was always smooth and clean-shaven. He didn't have a beard, which made his wide, joyful smile even easier to see. Carlos loved to cook more than anything else, and he took great pride in preparing healthy, tasty meals for his family after a long day of work.
But there was another very special person in Carlota’s life: Nicole. Nicole was a tall, twenty-six-year-old woman with long, golden blonde hair. She had been part of the family since Carlota was only four months old. In Carlota’s room, there was a precious photograph of Nicole holding a tiny, swaddled baby Carlota, looking at her with pure love. Over the years, that love had only grown. Nicole wasn't just a caregiver; she was like a big sister and a best friend rolled into one.
Every Saturday, a special excitement filled the air because it was time to visit Nicole’s parents, the Watsons. The Watsons lived in a beautiful house with a garden that smelled like summer and a swimming pool that glittered like a sapphire under the sun. For Carlota, these visits were the highlight of her week. Not only did she get to swim, but she also got to practice her English. Speaking with the Watson family was like unlocking a secret treasure chest of words. Carlota would tell them about her week at Sansueña, using her best English sentences, and they would cheer for her progress.

However, the absolute best part of the Watson house was the four-legged greeting committee. As soon as Carlota stepped into the garden, she was met by four wagging tails. First, there was Sunny, a large and gentle Golden Retriever whose fur was the color of toasted honey. Then came Riley and India, two energetic Border Collies who were always ready to chase a ball or show off a clever trick. Finally, there was Mia, a tiny white Bichon Maltese who was so small she looked like a hopping marshmallow.
"Hello, Sunny! Hi, Riley! Come here, Mia!" Carlota would shout in English, her voice full of joy. She would spend hours in the pool, splashing around while the dogs ran along the edge, occasionally barking in excitement. Sunny would sometimes dip his paws in, while little Mia would watch from the safety of a shaded lounge chair.
After a long afternoon of swimming and playing, Carlota would sit on the grass, surrounded by her four furry friends. Riley would rest his head on her lap, and India would nudge her hand for more scratches. Carlota would talk to them in English, telling them stories about her school and her dreams. The dogs didn't mind the language; they understood the kindness in her voice and the gentle touch of her hands.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the pool, Carlota felt a deep sense of happiness. She knew that her hard work at school and her responsibility at home made these weekend adventures even sweeter. With her loving parents, her dear Nicole, and her wonderful bilingual Saturdays with the dogs, Carlota’s world was a beautiful place to grow up. She realized that being responsible wasn't just about doing chores; it was about earning the freedom to enjoy the most magical moments of life.
