Cleo Went Missing! Venus and Violeta's Adventure

Venus and Violeta were two inseparable sisters, almost like two peas in a pod. They shared secrets, laughs, and a huge love for their kitten Cleo. Cleo was a calico cat, with patches of cream, black, and orange, and bright green eyes that looked like emeralds. She loved chasing yarn balls, napping in the sun by the window, and purring like a little engine when they petted her.

One sunny day, Venus and Violeta decided to have a picnic in the garden. They spread out a red and white checkered blanket under the shade of a big apple tree. They prepared cucumber and cheese sandwiches, and a pitcher of nice, fresh lemonade. Cleo, as curious as ever, followed them closely, swishing her tail back and forth.

While the girls played with their dolls and told stories, Cleo slipped between the bushes. At first, they didn’t think much of it, thinking she was hunting an insect or chasing a butterfly. But time passed, and Cleo didn’t return.

"Where could Cleo be?" Violeta asked, her voice filled with concern.

Venus, even more nervous, jumped up. "Cleo! Cleo!" she called, hoping to hear her kitten’s familiar meow. But only silence answered them.

They started searching the whole garden. They checked under the rose bushes, behind the tool shed, and even inside the dollhouse. There was no sign of Cleo. Panic began to take hold of them.

"Cleo is lost!" Violeta exclaimed, with tears in her eyes.

Venus, though also scared, tried to stay calm. "Don’t worry, Violeta. We’ll find her. Let’s search the whole neighborhood."

They went out onto the street and started asking their neighbors. "Have you seen a calico kitten? Her name is Cleo," they asked, showing a photo of Cleo on their phone.

Mrs. Rodriguez, who had a garden full of flowers, said she hadn’t seen any cat. Mr. Garcia, who was always trimming his hedge, also hadn’t seen anything. The girls felt more and more desperate.

Suddenly, they heard a weak meow from far away. "Did you hear that, Violeta?" Venus said, her heart pounding.

They followed the sound until they reached an old abandoned warehouse at the end of the street. The door was slightly ajar, and the meow seemed to be coming from inside.

Carefully, they entered the warehouse. It was dark and dusty, and smelled of old wood and dampness. "Cleo!" they called, hoping their kitten would hear them.

The meow grew louder. Following the sound, they reached a corner of the warehouse where there was a pile of cardboard boxes. Among the boxes, they saw Cleo, trapped and scared.

"Cleo! You’re here!" Venus exclaimed, running toward her. Carefully, they removed the boxes that trapped her and freed their kitten.

Cleo, seeing them, jumped into their arms, purring and rubbing against their legs. The girls hugged her tightly, relieved to have found her safe and sound.

"You were trapped, poor thing," Violeta said, petting her soft fur.

Venus noticed that Cleo was limping a little. "I think she hurt her paw," she said, worried.

Carefully, they took her back home and placed her in her favorite basket. They gave her fresh water and food, and kept her warm with a soft blanket. The next day, they took her to the vet, who confirmed that Cleo had only a small sprain in her paw. He put a bandage on it and prescribed some rest.

Venus and Violeta took great care of Cleo. They read her stories, petted her, and gave her all the love she needed. Soon, Cleo fully recovered and returned to being her playful, affectionate self.

The girls learned a valuable lesson that day. They realized how much they loved Cleo and how important it was to care for and protect her. And Cleo, in turn, learned that Venus and Violeta were the best friends in the world, and that they would always be there for her, no matter what happened.

Since then, they always kept an eye on Cleo when they played in the garden, and never let her out of their sight again. They knew that their kitten was a very special part of their family, and that their love for her was unconditional.
