In the tiny village of Crumbwell, there lived a chef named Clive who was famous for his soufflés. His soufflés were so light and fluffy, they could float to the ceiling if you weren’t careful. But Clive had one big problem—he sneezed at the most inconvenient times, and it always ruined his dishes.
One day, the mayor of Crumbwell announced a cooking contest with a grand prize of a golden whisk. Clive was determined to win, so he practiced his soufflé recipe for three whole days. He stirred the batter just right, folded the egg whites with the grace of a ballet dancer, and even wore a special sneeze mask. But when the time came to bake, Clive sneezed so hard, the soufflé exploded into a cloud of flour and feathers that covered the entire kitchen.
Just as Clive was about to give up, he remembered a recipe he’d read about in an old cookbook: the ‘Sneeze-Proof Soufflé.’ It said that if you add a pinch of pepper and a drop of honey, your soufflé would be immune to sneezes. Clive followed the recipe to the letter, and when the soufflé was done, it was the fluffiest one he had ever made. He even sneezed right in its face, and nothing happened!
At the contest, Clive served his soufflé, and everyone was amazed. The judges declared him the winner, and he received the golden whisk. But when Clive opened it, he found a tiny note that read: ‘Congratulations! You’ve won the golden whisk—but you’ll need it to stir the next contest’s soup.’ Clive laughed and said, ‘Well, I guess I’ll have to keep my sneeze mask handy.’
From that day on, Clive was the talk of Crumbwell—not just for his soufflés, but for his sneeze-proof skills too. And every time he sneezed, he’d just smile and say, ‘That’s the twist!’
