Goldilocks was a bright-eyed girl with a mop of golden hair and a heart full of wonder. One sunny morning, she skipped through the woods, her boots crunching on fallen leaves, her pockets full of berries. The forest was quiet, save for the chitter of squirrels and the rustle of wind through the trees. She had heard stories about a cozy cottage deep in the woods, one that belonged to three bears who lived alone with no one to talk to. Goldilocks decided she would find it, just to say hello.
After a while, she came upon a small wooden cottage with a red roof and smoke curling from the chimney. The door creaked open, and she stepped inside. The room was warm and smelled of honey and cinnamon. There were three beds, all neatly made, and three bowls of porridge on the table. Goldilocks was hungry and tired, so she reached for the smallest bowl of porridge, sat on the smallest bed, and began to eat.
The porridge was just right, and the bed was just right too. She had never felt so comfortable in her life. She finished her meal, then lay back on the bed, her eyes fluttering shut. Her soft snores filled the room, and she dreamed of bears and forests and endless adventures.
Suddenly, the door creaked open again. In came the three bears, Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear. They had been out for a walk and were surprised to find their cottage in disarray. The porridge was gone, the beds were messed up, and one of them was still warm. Papa Bear growled, “Someone’s been here!” Mama Bear sniffed the air, “Someone’s been eating my porridge!” Baby Bear peeked into the room and gasped, “Goldilocks is sleeping in my bed!”
Goldilocks woke up with a start, her heart pounding. She saw the three bears and froze, her golden hair a tangle. But instead of running, she stood tall, her voice trembling but brave. “I’m sorry,” she said, “I didn’t mean to be rude. I just wanted to say hello and I got sleepy. I didn’t know this was your home.”
The bears looked at each other. Papa Bear grumbled, “You should have knocked.” Mama Bear sighed, “We were lonely, but we never thought anyone would come.” Baby Bear smiled gently, “You’re not so bad, Goldilocks. Maybe you can come visit again, but this time, please knock first.”
Goldilocks felt a warm glow in her chest. She said goodbye, promising to return with a gift for the bears. As she walked home through the forest, the sun was setting, casting golden light on the trees. She had learned that curiosity is a gift, but kindness and respect are even more important. And from that day on, whenever she wandered the woods, she always knocked before entering any home.
The end.
