Juan and the Starry Owl's Secret

Juan was a curious boy who loved the night more than the day. Every night, after dinner, he would rush to his bedroom window to gaze at the starry sky. He loved imagining that each star was a little light guiding dreams, and sometimes, he swore he could see strange shapes forming among them.

One night, while watching the sky, he noticed something different. A star was shining with unusual intensity, almost as if it were pulsing. Suddenly, a shadow moved near him. It was an owl, but not an ordinary one. Its feathers seemed to be made of stardust, and its eyes gleamed with the same light as the pulsing star.

Juan froze, unable to believe what he was seeing. The owl, with a voice as soft as the whisper of the wind, said, "Don't be afraid, little Juan. I am Estelar, the guardian of lost dreams."

Juan, recovering from his astonishment, asked, "Lost dreams? What are lost dreams?"

Estelar, the starry owl, explained, "They are the dreams that children forget, the wishes that abandon them before they try. They get lost in the sky and become sad stars. The star you saw pulsing is a dream that needs help to return to Earth."

"And how can I help?" Juan asked, feeling important.

"You must find the child who forgot this dream," replied Estelar. "It's a boy who lives nearby, named Mateo. Once he dreamed of being a great inventor, but now he thinks it's impossible."

Estelar spread one of his wings, revealing a small map made of constellations. "This map will guide you to Mateo. But you must be quick, the star is fading."

Juan accepted the mission with courage. He left his house, following the starry map Estelar had given him. The night was dark, but the stars shone brightly, guiding him through the nearby forest.

After a while, he arrived at a small house with a lit window. It was Mateo's house. Juan timidly knocked on the door. Mateo opened it, with a sad look in his eyes.

"Hello, Mateo," said Juan. "I'm Juan. Estelar, the starry owl, sent me. He says you have a dream that needs help."

Mateo was surprised. "A starry owl? A dream that needs help? I don't understand."

Juan explained everything Estelar had told him. He spoke of lost dreams and the star that was fading. At first, Mateo didn't believe him, but the sincerity in Juan's eyes convinced him.

"I... I used to dream of being an inventor," Mateo confessed. "But I always fail. My inventions never work."

"That doesn't matter," said Juan. "What matters is not giving up. Estelar told me your dream is important. If it fades, a star will fade with it."

Juan showed him the starry map. Mateo, remembering his passion for astronomy, recognized the constellations. A spark of enthusiasm reignited in his eyes.

"Maybe... maybe we could try building something together," Mateo said.

Juan smiled. "Of course! What do you think of a small robot that collects fallen stars?"

Mateo laughed. "That's a fantastic idea! Let's go to my workshop."

Together, Juan and Mateo worked all night. With Juan's help, Mateo remembered his skills as an inventor. They built a small robot with wheels and a net to catch stars. Although it didn't work perfectly at first, they didn't give up. They adjusted, tested, and adjusted again until, finally, the robot moved and caught a small shiny pebble Juan found in the garden.

Meanwhile, in the sky, the star that had been pulsing weakly began to shine brighter. Estelar, the starry owl, watched with satisfaction.

At dawn, Juan and Mateo were exhausted but happy. Their robot didn't collect real stars, but it had revived Mateo's dream. Mateo realized that failure wasn't the end, but an opportunity to learn and improve.

Estelar flew to the workshop window. "You've done a great job, little friends," he said. "Mateo's dream is safe, and the star will shine brightly again."

Juan and Mateo felt proud. They had saved a dream and a star, all thanks to a starry owl and a starry night.

From that day on, Juan and Mateo remained friends. Together, they continued inventing things, learning from their mistakes, and never giving up on their dreams. And every night, Juan looked up at the starry sky, knowing that each star was a dream worth protecting.
