Lucía, Dad, Mom, and Lory: Saving the Shining Forest!

Lucía, with her chestnut braids and curious eyes, loved exploring the forest behind her house. She lived with Dad, a carpenter with magical hands who turned wood into wonderful toys, and Mom, a biologist who always told fascinating stories about plants and animals. One day, while walking through the 'Shining Forest,' named for the leaves that seemed to shine in the sun, they noticed something strange.

"Look, Dad!" exclaimed Lucía, pointing to a pile of trash hidden among the trees. There were plastic bottles, rusty cans, and empty bags of French fries. Dad frowned. "This isn't right, Lucía. Someone has been polluting our forest."

Mom nodded with concern. "Trash harms the plants and animals. We need to do something about it."

Suddenly, they heard a loud squawk. It was a parrot, with green and yellow feathers, flapping its wings in desperation. The parrot landed on a nearby branch and cried: "Help! The forest is sick! Humans are making it sick!"

Lucía, Dad, and Mom were surprised. They had never heard a parrot speak!

"We can understand you!" exclaimed Lucía, excited.

The parrot, whose name was Pico de Oro, told them that the trash was polluting the water and soil, and that the animals were losing their homes. He explained that the Shining Forest was losing its shine and joy.

"We have to help Pico de Oro and the forest!" said Lucía, determined.

Dad, with his practical spirit, suggested: "We can organize a forest cleanup. We'll invite our friends and neighbors to help us pick up all the trash."

Mom, with her knowledge of nature, proposed: "We can also plant trees and flowers to restore the forest and create new habitats for the animals."

Pico de Oro, excited by the idea, offered to be their guide. He knew every corner of the Shining Forest and knew where help was most needed.

The next day, Lucía, Dad, Mom, and Pico de Oro began working. First, they went door to door inviting everyone to join their "Forest Cleanup Brigade." Many neighbors offered to help, including Lucía's friends, Sofía and Mateo.

On Saturday morning, with gloves and trash bags in hand, the Forest Cleanup Brigade gathered at the entrance of the forest. Pico de Oro, flying above them, guided them to the most polluted areas.

They worked hard all day, picking up trash, sorting recyclables, and planting small trees and flowers. Lucía found a plastic bottle trapped in the roots of a tree and carefully removed it. Dad built small birdhouses with the wood he had found. Mom taught the children how to plant seeds properly.

Even Pico de Oro helped, picking up small pieces of paper with his beak and dropping them into the trash bags.

By the end of the day, the Shining Forest looked much better. Although there was still a lot of work to do, they felt proud of what they had achieved. They were tired, but also very happy.

To celebrate their hard work, Mom prepared a picnic with sandwiches and orange juice. They all sat together under the shade of a tree and enjoyed the food while listening to the birds sing.

"Thank you all for your help," said Lucía, smiling. "Together, we can keep our Shining Forest clean and healthy."

Pico de Oro flew to Lucía's shoulder and said: "You're a true heroine, Lucía. You've saved my home."

Lucía hugged the parrot with affection. She knew that protecting the environment wasn't easy, but with the help of her family, her friends, and Pico de Oro, they were ready to face any challenge. And so, Lucía, Dad, Mom, and Pico de Oro became the guardians of the Shining Forest, making sure its beauty and joy lasted for many years.
