Quack, the Brave Duck and His First Day of School!

Quack, the little duck, had a giant knot in his small yellow stomach. Tomorrow was his first day of school at the Happy Pond School, and he was terrified! He had never been away from his mom and his brothers and sisters for so long. What if he didn't like school? What if he didn't make friends? What if the teacher was grumpy?

He spent the night turning in his downy bed, imagining all kinds of horrors. He pictured a teacher duck with a sharp beak and cold eyes, yelling at the ducks who couldn't read. He imagined a pond full of bold ducks who would laugh at him for being small and shy. Even he dreamed of getting lost in a maze of classrooms and never finding his way home.

In the morning, Quack could barely swallow his breakfast of seaweed. His mom hugged him tightly and said, "Quack, sweetheart, I know you're nervous, but school is a wonderful place. You'll learn many new things and make lots of friends. And remember, you can always come to me if you feel sad or scared."

His dad walked him to the school door. Quack held on to his hand tightly, feeling his little legs tremble. When they reached the entrance, he saw other ducks, some as scared as he was, others chatting happily. A big colorful sign said, "Welcome to the Happy Pond School!"

Quack took a deep breath and went in. The lobby was full of noise and activity. Ducks ran everywhere, greeting their friends. Quack felt even smaller and lost.

Suddenly, a soft voice called out, "Hello, you must be Quack! Welcome to the Happy Pond School! I'm Miss Feather, your teacher."

Quack looked up and saw a smiling duck with soft feathers and kind eyes. Miss Feather crouched down to be at his level and offered him a flipper. "Don't be afraid, Quack. You're safe here. Come on, I'll show you your class."

Miss Feather led him to a bright and cheerful classroom decorated with lily pads and dragonflies. There were small desks arranged in a semicircle, and each one had the name of a duck. Miss Feather showed Quack his desk, which was next to a duck named Lila.

"Lila, why don't you show Quack the classroom?" said Miss Feather. Lila smiled at Quack and nodded. "Of course! Hello, Quack. My name is Lila. Would you like to see the reading corner?"

Quack nodded shyly and followed Lila. The reading corner was a cozy place with soft cushions and piles of colorful books. Lila showed him a book about frogs that jumped really high. Quack laughed at the illustrations.

During the day, Quack did many new things. He learned to write his name in the sand, sang songs about fish, and built a tower of blocks with Lila and another duck named Beto. Miss Feather read a story about a duck who learned to fly, and Quack felt inspired to try new things.

At the end of the day, when his dad came to pick him up, Quack ran to him with a big smile. "Dad, school is great! I made two friends and learned to write my name! And Miss Feather is the best teacher in the world!"

His dad smiled and hugged him. "I'm glad you liked it, Quack. I knew you'd have fun."

On the way home, Quack thought about all the things he had learned and experienced on his first day of school. He was no longer afraid. He knew school would be a place where he would learn, grow, and make many friends. And he knew Miss Feather would always be there to support him.

That night, Quack slept deeply, dreaming of lily pads, dragonflies, and the adventures waiting for him at the Happy Pond School. He was no longer Quack, the scared duck. He was Quack, the brave duck, ready to face any challenge.

The next day, Quack ran to school, excited to see his friends and learn new things. He knew school wasn't a place to fear, but a place to grow and shine. And with Miss Feather by his side, he was sure he could achieve anything he set his mind to.
