One quiet night, the moon looked down at the sleeping world and felt a strange sadness. Her soft glow was warm, but her heart was heavy. She had forgotten the lullaby she always sang to the stars and the sleeping forest creatures. Without it, the night felt incomplete. 'I must find my song,' she whispered, her silver light flickering with worry.
A little red fox, curled up in a hollow log, heard the moon's sigh. 'Are you sad, dear moon?' he asked, his voice gentle as a breeze. The moon blinked. 'Yes, I have forgotten my lullaby. Without it, the world won’t sleep well.' The fox tilted his head. 'Then let me help you find it.'
Together, they soared through the sky, past clouds shaped like sleepy sheep and over the treetops where fireflies danced. They asked the stars, the wind, and even a sleepy owl, but no one knew the lullaby. Just as the fox was about to give up, he remembered a soft melody he had heard long ago, when his mother used to sing him to sleep. 'What if your lullaby is in your heart?' he said. 'Maybe you just forgot to listen.'
The moon smiled. She closed her eyes and listened, and then she began to sing. Her voice was soft and bright, like silver bells. The stars twinkled in time, the forest creatures hummed along, and the world fell into a peaceful sleep. 'Thank you, little fox,' the moon said, her light glowing brighter than ever. 'Kindness and friendship can help us find what we’ve lost.'
And from that night on, whenever the moon sang, the fox would listen, knowing that even the brightest light needs a friend to shine.
