The world of Vel’Astrium was ruled by seven great Houses. Each one guarded a fragment of the Primordial Orb, an ancient relic capable of altering reality itself. Among all the houses, none were as feared or admired as the House of Erevaris, descendants of the Cursed Bloodline, who supposedly made a pact with a dying god in exchange for eternal power.
And it was in that very House where Kael opened his eyes… for the second time.
Where there was fire, there was blood.
The last time Kael von Erevaris breathed, it was as a traitor. In his past life, he had been a cold, manipulative noble, with a gift for lies and a face that never showed guilt. He sold secrets of his house to enemy factions. He forged alliances with forbidden beings of the Shadow Umbría. Even ordered the assassination of his younger brother to rise faster.
But he was betrayed. By love.
A woman with white hair and black wings…
A traitor who told him, 'I love you' just before stabbing a dagger into his heart.
'Wake up, demon... the hell has not ended.' said a voice among echoes.
When his eyes opened in that crystal chamber submerged in ancient ruins, Kael felt the heat of two memories merge: that of the young heir and the monster he had been. He didn't know how much time had passed. His body was younger. But the mark of his past was there: a black rune on his chest, a curse of eternity.
And in his mind... a desire: 'I will not make the same mistakes. This time, I will lie better.'
The First: Lysennah, the Archer of the Lost Forests
After escaping the temple where he was reincarnated, Kael emerged in the Eldreon Forests, where he was attacked by an elven patrol. He pretended to be injured. Pretended not to know who he was. With trembling voice and empty eyes, he introduced himself as 'Kael, a wandering orphan who heard voices'.
There he met Lysennah Drel’Varin, an elven woman with a hardened heart, from a family that had sworn to hunt the Erevaris for centuries.
She rescued him.
'I don't know what you're doing here, human. But if you're lying... I'll know.'
'I don't know who I am' he lied, hiding the mark with bandages. 'I just want answers.'
For weeks, Kael studied her. He learned her routine. Her wounds. Her hatred for the Erevaris. And slowly, he began to plant sympathy. A smile here. A tragic story there. Until Lysennah began to doubt.
But their relationship was not peaceful. She constantly confronted him:
'You have the look of someone who has killed... many times.'
'Maybe I did in another life' he whispered, neither denying nor confirming.
Until one night, on the edge of an enemy attack, Kael saved her... using a forbidden spell that only an Erevaris could handle. Lysennah discovered it.
'You're one of them! A demon in sheep's clothing!' she shouted.
'And what are you going to do, Lysennah?' Kael replied, taking her bow and throwing it away. 'Kill the only one who has understood you?'
She didn't. She hated him. She kissed him. She slapped him. She saved him. She walked away.
The Second: Revka, the General of the Fallen Empire
On his journey south, Kael infiltrated the ruins of Khar-Ein, where he found a sealed prison. There lay Revka, a half-demon with gray skin, cursed chains, and eyes that hadn't blinked for a hundred years.
It was he who broke the seal. He pretended to be an envoy of the new Empire to free her.
'What do you want from me, human?'
'That you serve me. And that we crush those who stole my life.'
Revka laughed. A hollow, cruel sound.
'You're worse than I am. I like you.'
At her side, Kael learned to wield the fire of dark pacts. But he also learned the price of playing with the emotions of someone like her. Because Revka desired him... and didn't know how to love without dominating.
'Don't manipulate me, Kael.' she told him one night, after a battle. 'Because if you do... I will fall in love with you, and I will kill you for it.'
And Kael, for the first time, felt fear of his own game.
The Third: Naevira, the Dragon Princess
In the snowy lands of Valdyr-Norr, Kael witnessed an interrupted ritual. A dragon princess, trapped in her human form, was about to be sacrificed by her own clan.
Kael intervened. Not out of compassion, but strategy. A dragon could be a useful weapon.
But Naevira was not a defenseless girl. She was proud, haughty, and had a dormant power. Kael manipulated her, pretending to be a celestial envoy. She believed him.
During their journey together, they argued daily. She hated his way of speaking. His sarcasm. His calculating gaze.
But also, night after night, she grew closer.
'I don't trust you.'
'You don't need to. Just follow me.'
'Why did you save me?'
'Because you deserve something better than dying in the hands of cowards.'
And she, not understanding it, began to need him.
End of Chapter 1: The Beginning of Deception
Kael already had three pieces. Three powerful women. Three hearts that loved him, hated him, or both.
But his plan had just begun. His goal was not love. It was revenge, control, and eternity.
However, the past always returns.
And in dreams, the woman with black wings continued to appear...
'Kael... you still haven't paid for what you did.'
